I’ve summarized my real-money contract trading experiences — the painful lessons I lost money to. Hopefully, they can help others avoid the same mistakes.

**1: Couldn’t hold on to profits, but always held onto losing positions.**
The bull market trained me to hold losses, but one black swan event wiped me out.

**2: Constantly trading against the trend.**
Always shorting at resistance in uptrends, always longing at support in downtrends. This kind of operation leads to brutal liquidations.

**3: Failed to stick to BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB majors.**
Always thought the “alt season” was coming, so I went long on alts. The result was always losses.

These three were my most fatal mistakes. I hope everyone takes them as a warning.

In crypto derivatives, I’ve always advocated a “dumb method.”

Most people don’t lose because they can’t read charts, but because they’re too smart: obsessed with indicators, overtrading, staying up all night staring at screens. In the end, their mindset collapses, and their accounts don’t grow.
Those who can go far are usually the ones who make their method extremely simple.

Here’s my usual approach:

**First, keep only one indicator.**
EMA21 and EMA55 are enough. The crossover of short- and mid-term trends is the signal. Golden cross = bullish, Death cross = bearish. No need for flashy extras.

**Second, pick your entry points.**
Only look at the 4-hour chart.
When EMA21 crosses above EMA55 and the candle closes green → open long.
When EMA21 crosses below EMA55 and the candle closes red → open short.
Never touch the middle of a choppy range.

**Third, stops are mandatory.**
Place them at the high/low of the previous 4-hour candle. Each loss should not exceed 5% of your capital. Losses must be acceptable; holding onto losing trades must be rejected.

**Fourth, pyramid your profits.**
First position = only 5% of capital. Add more once it’s +5%. Keep adding as long as profits continue, ride the trend until the EMA crosses again. This way, you lock in profits and capture as much of the trend as possible.

On mindset, remember a few points:

* Don’t aim to win every trade; missing is better than messing up.
* Limit yourself to 1–2 trades per day. Don’t ruin rhythm because of itchy hands.
* Trust the system and stick to execution — that’s how compounding works long-term.

The so-called “dumb method” doesn’t mean brainless trading.
It means simplifying the complex market into a few rules you can actually stick to.
It’s for those who don’t want to overwork, don’t want to be hijacked by emotions, and want stable high win rates.
